  • Troubleshooting: Landing Page Report Not Showing Link URLs

So, I tweaked my Landing Page Report to show not only the Page Title but also the Link URL. I used the edit icon, then customized the dimension and entered the link URL. However, when I finalized and saved my report, all I saw was the complete or aggregated data. Can you explain why this happened? Do you think waiting a day or two for the report to populate would be a good idea?

The issue you’re experiencing might be due to Google Analytics not being able to instantaneously reflect changes made in your customized reports. When you add a new dimension like “Link URL”, the system might need some time to gather and reflect that data. This is more evident if your website has high traffic or numerous Landing Pages. It might be a good idea indeed to wait for a day or two and then check the report again. If the issue still persists, it might be worth checking whether you’ve correctly set the parameters for the inclusion of the “Link URL”. The fact that you’re seeing aggregated data suggests that data is being collected, but perhaps not displaying as expected due to how the dimension has been added or defined.

When you customize any report in analytics tools, the changes do not reflect real-time data. The new data according to the changes will start accumulating from the time the changes were made. This is likely why you’re only seeing aggregated data immediately after saving your report. The data will not be retroactive to before the changes. As for waiting a day or two, that might indeed be a good idea. In a day or couple’s time, the customized report should begin to populate with data collected according to the new parameters you set (Link URL in this case). So, you could check back after some time to see if new data is appearing as expected.
