The issue you’re facing could be due to a number of reasons such as your tracking code not being installed properly, the other traffic types not having sufficient data, or maybe the source/medium information for your non-direct traffic is getting lost somewhere. First, ensure that the tracking code is correctly installed on all pages. Secondly, you should go to your Channels report in Google Analytics to see if there is indeed other traffic that is unaccounted for. If so, and the traffic is not insignificant, then it might be an issue of lost source/medium data. This can occuer due to factors such as redirects stripping this information or cookies getting deleted. You may need to check your website for such issues and correct them. It’s always best practice to thoroughly check your tracking setup when you see unexpected data or lack thereof.

In Google Analytics 4 (GA4), you can see real-time URL views in the “Realtime” section. Go to “Engagement” and then “Pages and Screens”. Here, you’ll find “Active Users” with the detail listing below showing which pages and screens are actively being viewed. Remember, it might look a bit different, but all the vital info is still there!

As of now, Google Analytics 4 (GA4) does not officially support a direct equivalent to the ‘hitCallback’ function available in Universal Google Analytics (UA). However, it’s important to note that GA4 is designed with an emphasis on events, hence it captures far more types of interactions out-of-the-box compared to UA. In terms of ensuring the capture of crucial events like user registrations or logins, you can customize these within the GA4 interface by defining them as conversions. You can then monitor these conversions closely to ensure that they are being tracked effectively. In case of redirecting to another page, you might consider delaying the redirection just a bit to allow GA4 sufficient time to complete sending the event data.

Hey, I might not be able to help much with Google Analytics 4 as I’m not that familiar with it. But one thing you could try is exporting your GA reports to CSVs. Not sure if CSVs would have the log data you need, but it’s worth a shot! With Supabase, you can definitely import data from CSVs. Just start with creating a new table and then select ‘Import Data as CSV’. Here’s hoping this makes things a tad easier for you! Check out this image to guide you through the import process. Hopefully, it helps you move forward a bit.

Yes, when you change the name of something in GA4 (Google Analytics 4), you will not lose any existing data or historical events associated with the old name. All the data previously collected under the old name will remain in your system and will still be accessible. Changing the name only affects how the data is labeled moving forward; it does not change or erase previously labeled data. Remember however that your new data and reports will start using the new applied name. Hence, you may need to adjust or realign your previous data analyses or annotations to match the new name for consistency.
