In using GA4 and not GA360, the user is experiencing an issue when filtering and viewing event record counts in their reports. Each event record is supposed to count as a single event regardless of the date filters applied. However, the user is noticing discrepancies in the report count, particularly when adjusting the date filters. Half a month of filtering records shows each as 1 event, a full month suddenly doubles the count to 2 events per record, and when filtering for one and a half months, the count triples to 3 events per record. This puzzle is based on report samples, which are heavily sampled explorations of only 9.52% of the total data, so this could be impacting the accuracy of these counts. A clear understanding of sampling is required to get a better perspective on the situation.
