  • Page views raise 50% after change in cookie consent

Posted by Abid on 30 April 2024 at 6:30 am

After we made a change in our cookie consent about 90% of users accept all cookies including ga cookies. Before it were about 50 % which accepted the ga cookies.

This has resulted in a proportional raise of page views in ga: about 50% more page views.

What makes me wonder: AFAIK the missing cookie consent is estimated by ga. Therefore I would have expected that the page views don’t change much when more users accept the ga cookies.

    Can somebody explain this behavior?
