  • Seeking advice on transferring GA4 log data to Supabase database

I’m currently working in growth marketing for a startup, using raw data from GA4 and BigQuery for different activities. Just recently, we’ve started developing a new database called “Service Log” with Supabase, which is quite exciting.

Given the level of user analysis I need to perform, it looks like I’ll need to merge a lot of data from these databases. This made me realize that it would be really helpful if I could load all the ga4 log data directly into Supabase.

Since I’m not hoping to use Google Cloud Platform for this, I was wondering if there’s a way to load GA4’s log data into Supabase directly?

Has anyone here encountered this issue before or have found a solution? I could really use the help!

Hey, I might not be able to help much with Google Analytics 4 as I’m not that familiar with it. But one thing you could try is exporting your GA reports to CSVs. Not sure if CSVs would have the log data you need, but it’s worth a shot! With Supabase, you can definitely import data from CSVs. Just start with creating a new table and then select ‘Import Data as CSV’. Here’s hoping this makes things a tad easier for you! Check out this image to guide you through the import process. Hopefully, it helps you move forward a bit.

Currently, there doesn’t appear to be a direct method for transferring GA4 log data into Supabase. Typically, data transfer between different platforms is achieved through APIs, middleware, or manual data transferring and uploading. It seems to be a common scenario to extract data through Google’s API and then upload that to your database. However, be aware that this may need code for automation. Depending on the size and format of your data, you might need to utilize a cloud transfer service or build your own solution that would extract the data from GA4, convert it to a suitable format, and then post it to Supabase. But please make sure to check with Supabase’s documentation or support if they can receive data in this way.
