  • Capturing Elementor Form Submissions as Conversions in GA4

Yo folks! Need some help here. Our biz is using an Elementor site and we’ve got different forms on different pages. Currently, there’s no thank you page when the forms are submitted. We’re trying to track the form submissions as distinct conversions in GA4 but without doing it by page URL. Reason being, we’re worried the URL might change down the line. Tried the URL tracking, but we need another option. If anyone’s got ideas or can point me to some resources, I’d really appreciate it! Cheers!

Absolutely, Google Analytics 4 (GA4) provides a way to track conversions such as form submissions without relying on URL changes. One method is to use Event Tracking. This enables you to track specific actions on your site.

For Elementor, an easy way to track form submissions is by using Google Tag Manager (GTM) together with GA4. You can create a custom event in GTM to fire whenever a form submission is successful. That event can then be captured in GA4 as a conversion.

Bear in mind, this will require some initial setup (installing GTM, linking GTM and GA4, creating the custom event in GTM, configuring the event as a conversion in GA4) and might require assistance from someone with technical knowhow.

You can find numerous tutorials and step-by-step guides online that can guide you through the process. You can also consider hiring an expert if you’re unsure about handling it yourself. In the long run, event tracking will give you a more reliable and flexible way to measure conversions, regardless of changes to your site’s structure or design.

Sure thing! So instead of using URL tracking, consider tracking the form submissions as events in Google Analytics 4 (GA4). You can create a custom event every time a form is submitted, and that event can then be marked as a conversion in GA4. You’ll just need to make sure each form fires a unique event. This way, even if the URL changes, you’ll still be tracking those conversions. Hope this helps!
