  • What are the charges for processing additional data rows after reaching the Google Analytics Data API usage limit?

Hey folks! Bit of a question here. So, I’m noodling around with the Google Analytics Data API for a project of mine. Just trying to wrap my head around what happens if I cross the boundaries of the free quota, you know?

Simply put, I’m curious about how much more cash I’ll have to shell out for every additional row of data that gets processed once I’ve hit the ceiling on the free stuff. Oh, and if there’s any other sneaky surprise charges, I’d love a heads up on those too.

At present, as far as I can make out, the free quota involves 25,000 core tokens per property per day, 5,000 per property per hour, and 1,750 per project, per property per hour. I’m hoping one of you lovely people can help me navigate this labyrinth that is Google Analytics Data API’s pricing structure and let me know what the wallet damage is once I exceed these generous limits.

Any words of wisdom or advice on this would be golden. Cheers in advance!

As of now, Google Analytics Data API doesn’t have a direct cost per additional row or token once you go over the free quota. However, exceeding the quota frequently might lead to rate-limiting of your requests or even suspension, so it’s best you request a quota increase beforehand. The pricing would then depend on your deal with Google. I advise watching request numbers closely and consider using filters to limit data and stay within quota.

The pricing for Google Analytics Data API after exceeding the free quota isn’t explicitly stated on the Google Analytics website and is not straightforward. Once you cross the free quota, Google may charge you based on how much you exceed. However, there isn’t a concrete cost per additional row of data. If you find that you’re regularly exceeding the quota, it is advisable to reach out to Google’s sales or support team to discuss a pricing structure that would fit your needs. Sometimes they can give you a better idea of what the cost will be, or they might even be able to provide a custom solution. Always keep an eye on your usage to avoid unexpected charges and take advantage of setting up billing alerts to get notified when you might be exceeding your limits.
